Here in Mark 9 we see a description of how we should follow Christ. It's easy for us to look at the Lord's instructions and consequences of not followin them and think that these are radical ideas. However, the closer we look the more we will realize that these are just reasonable expectations for followers of Christ.
I. It's only reasonable that we love one another. vs 42
a. We should not tempt others to sin.
b. We should not foster sin.
c. We should not trip others up.
d. We should encourage righeousness.
II. It is only reasonable that we should live in purity. vs 43, 45, 47-48
III. It is only reasonable that we are willing suffer as believers. vs 49
IV. It is only reasonable that we obey the Lord. vs 50
