The Bible reminds us that without faith it is impossible to please God. We also know that it is by Grace we are saved through faith. Despite the importance of faith I don't think we often consider how to develop our faith in the Lord? We often believe that it is enough to have saving faith. Despite the guarantees of salvation that comes through saving faith it is important for us to learn to trust the Lord in every circumstance. In our most desperate moments we can be sure that the God who sends us, intercedes for us, intervenes for us, and teaches us that we can absolutely trust Him in all areas of life and ministry.
I. We develop faith when we go where Jesus sends us. vs 45-46
a. The disciples were willing to go when they were sent.
b. The disciples were willing to go despite their previous experience.
c. The disciples were alone physically but never without Jesus intercession.
II. We develop faith when we experience turbulent situations. vs 47-52
a. Jesus was aware of their struggle.
b. Jesus intervened at the right time.
c. Nothing could prevent Jesus from rescuing them.
d. A developing Faith is brave.
e. Jesus rescue showed them that they could have faith in Him.
III. We develop faith by focusing on the mission more than the miracles. vs 53-56
a. Jesus didn't rescue them for no reason.
b. Jesus offers rescue to everyone.
