It's amazing how quickly we can turn something that is really good into something that is far from good. After the Lord instituted the observance of the Sabbath among His chosen people the generations to follow slowly degraded it. They instituted their own additions to the Sabbath to the point that when Jesus observed the Sabbath as God Himself they told Him He wasn't doing it right. We must all be aware of how easy it is for us to corrupt the good and Holy commands of a loving heavenly father.
I. The pharisees were more interested in finding fault with Jesus than they were in observing the Sabbath. vs 23-24
II. Jesus used the Word to correct their misguided interpretation. vs 25-28
III. Jesus didn't avoid confronting false doctrine. 1-5
IV. Hard hearts aren't able to see the Truth. vs 6
